Early this year, I had the pleasure of visiting the Dallas Design Center. What a fantastic place that was. 5 million square feet of shopping. I found some really wonderful new resources to share.
I was able to view some of the newest trends in interiors. Let me tell you, glamorous is in! And the linens…oh, my…the linens. The beautiful bedding and fabrics. To DIE for. Burn out velvets, painted linens, monogrammed bedding and bath.
White furniture continues to be strong, but softened with the rustic edges of shabby chic, which is making a resurgence. Updated with the combination of crystal and contemporary glass to soften the whole look. White porcelain as wall art was a popular motif especially in upscale modern looks. And Ceramics were in abundance everywhere. The iron work was scaled back, but where it did appear, it was more colorful than black or rusted.

The collections of lamps were quite incredible. I found the most fantastic line of lamps with a beautiful romantic feel and spectacular shades. US made no less! There were chandeliers so lovely with sheer drum shades and crystal lights that were like looking into a dream. Contemporary lamps, Romantic Lamps, Traditional Lamps. One great lamp in a room with a couple of less than fabulous lamps and you’re room will still look dynamite.
Glam colors – golds & purples, silvers and soft blues, metals everywhere. Chrome is still a big player but a softened gold finished is beautiful – especially in glass! And did I mention the linens?????
Here are some key trends that are google-worthy:
Metallic Luxe
Conscious Luxury
Serene Settings
Flora and Fauna
